The 5-Step Decision Routine
- • Identify the skill being tested.
- • Read the whole sentence/passage before choosing.
- • Eliminate options that fail grammar, meaning or logic.
- • Choose the best supported answer — not merely a possible answer.
- • Move on if stuck; return during review.
Time Control
- • Do not spend too long proving an answer you already know.
- • On reading, answer evidence-based detail questions efficiently and reserve more time for inference.
- • In grammar, inspect the structure around the blank before translating.
- • In vocabulary, predict meaning before reading the options.
- • In composition, compare complete sentences for clarity and logic.
