Future Simple & Future Forms

Concept

English has several future forms. Use will for instant decisions, predictions and promises; be going to for plans and evidence-based predictions; the present progressive for fixed arrangements; and the present simple for timetables.

للمستقبل عدة صيغ: will للقرار الفوري والتنبؤ، be going to للخطط والدلائل، والمضارع المستمر للمواعيد المرتبة، والمضارع البسيط للجداول.

Affirmative

Subject + will + base verb · Subject + am / is / are going to + base verb

Negative

Subject + will not (won't) + base verb

will never adds -s: he will go, not he wills go.

Main uses

Common STEP traps

• ❌ He will goes tomorrow.

  ✅ He will go tomorrow.

  After will the verb is in its base form.

• ❌ I will register next week; I decided yesterday.

  ✅ I am going to register next week.

  A decision already made takes be going to.

• ❌ When I will arrive, I will call you.

  ✅ When I arrive, I will call you.

  After when we use the present simple, not will.

• ❌ The train will leave at 6:00 every day.

  ✅ The train leaves at 6:00 every day.

  Timetables take the present simple.
